A great big thank you to all who came out to vote on Tuesday. I appreciate the confidence you have in my ability to be your next State Representative.

As you know I am running once again for State Representative from District 1. Although I was not elected for the last term I have continued to be active in State Government. I worked as an advisor to the State Senate in crafting the FY 24/25 budget. This budget included a significant increase in Education funding for the schools. As well as dollars for school safety, school building aid, additional funding for roads and bridges and increases to Health and Human Services. The budget also increased the rooms and meals money that was returned to the towns.

I have been appointed to two important boards at the state level, the Drinking Water and Ground Water Advisory Board which can have significant impact on our community. We have provided grants for PFAS remediation in southern NH and fortunately, the North Conway Water Precinct has also been a recipient of grant funds. Currently, DES is working on well water testing in Grafton County. It is essential if you are on a well that you get your water tested frequently. The second committee is the Law Enforcement Conduct Review Committee. All actions of this committee are not available to the public, but I can assure you we do a thorough job of reviewing any misconduct.

Locally, I served on the Conway Charter Commission and am a member of the MWV Career Tech Advisory Board.

There are several issues I will work on when I go back to Concord. These include affordable housing, mental health, homelessness and the list goes on. I plan to return to the Finance Committee which will develop the next two-year budget. I should point out as of this week the state general fund is in very good financial shape with 43.4 million dollars ahead of planned.

Thank you and I ask for your vote on November 5th, 2024.
